📣📣 Attention Parents and Carers
We have important communication from our Principal, Mr Mark Utley, regarding the State School Teachers' Union industrial action on Tuesday, 23 April 2024.
Please note the canteen will only be open during lunchtime on this day with a modified menu, more information on this menu to follow shortly.
Dear Parents and Carers,
As you may be aware, the Department of Education is negotiating with the State School Teachers’ Union (SSTUWA) and Principals’ Federation of Western Australia to reach an industrial agreement. While these negotiations are still ongoing, the SSTUWA has announced industrial action for half a day on the morning of Tuesday, 23 April 2024.
On the morning of Tuesday, 23 April 2024, some teachers may elect to participate in a stop-work action as directed by the union. As a result, there will be a disruption to the regular teaching schedule.
The stop-work action will commence at the beginning of the day, and our teachers will be back in classrooms by 12:30p.m. To minimise the impact, we have made arrangements for supervision and modified activities for our students during the affected period. Once the stop-work action concludes at 12:30p.m., regular teaching and learning will resume, and period 4 and period 5 will run according to the normal timetable.
I understand that you may consider keeping your child at home on that day. Please be informed that this decision will not impact the College attendance-based rewards, such as the 100 Club or the Good Standing Policy. For those students who do attend school on the day, there will be a staff and student assembly held during homeroom in the Great Court.
The Department of Education has assured me that they are working as hard, and as fast as they can to reach a resolution with the union. Every effort is being made to minimise future impact on all schools.
Kind regards,
Mr Mark Utley
Principal

The teachers have my full support in their pay rise negotiations.
The Centre was built to be an environmentally friendly facility and has natural air flow ventilation in all training cubicles with natural sky lighting.
From enrolment to this day we have been well informed along the way.
Thank you
